Green & Black’s – Dark 70%

This is an organic bar, whose label states that it’s made of Trinitario beans, which I now know to be of decent quality (definitely better than the Forastero beans that make most commercial chocolate). It smells like a flowery meadow, so mellow and not overpowering. It was a shiny reddish brown, and broke with a nice snap.

The taste, however, was not as mellow as the smell. At first, it was very sharp and acidic. As it melted, it turned into a smokey, woody flavor with an end of mouth of banana and smoke. It was a bit too harsh for me. I’ll have to come back to this one when I’m in a different mood and see if my opinion of it has changed.

I enjoyed this bar much more than the other organic bar I have tried so far (Green & Blacks). […]
